SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – In a media workout held by unbeaten and rising star Alberto ‘Explosivo’ Machado (16-0, 14KO’s) confessed to be ready and prepared to face his biggest test this Saturday, April 1; against dangerous Mexican warrior Juan José ‘Piquet’ Martínez (26-3, 18KO’s) at the Complejo Ferrial of Puerto Rico in Ponce as part of the successful DIRECTV Boxing Nights series. “We are very well prepared, I feel very good, we have done a great camp, Piquet will be a great challenge for me and motivates me because every fight is one more that brings me closer to my dream of being world champion,” said unbeaten Alberto Machado. While his veteran coach Victor Montañéz mentioned that Machado is in the best condition of his young career “Alberto is in excellent condition, he’s like he has never been before. He has done nearly 120 rounds of sparring and I see him as I wanted him, I do not think the fight will go to the distance, “he said. Alberto Machado and Juan Jose ‘Piquet’ Martinez will clash in a 10-round bout at the super featherweight division for the vacant NABO championship of the World Boxing Organization.
