BOXING’s SUPER PROSPECT, VERGIL ORTIZ JR., SIGNS WITH TEAM EVERLAST

NEW YORK, NY – AUGUST 6, 2019 – Everlast Worldwide, the industry’s leader in boxing equipment, signs a multi-year deal with highly touted junior welterweight prospect, Vergil Ortiz Jr.
Vergil Ortiz Jr. was born and raised in the state of Texas where he started competing at the age of eight. His amateur background is comprised of seven national championships, 2013 Junior Olympic gold, and an impressive record of 140-20. At the age of eighteen, Vergil signed with Golden Boy Promotions to turn professional.
Vergil debuted his professional career in Indio, California where he won by first round knockout. In his most recent bout, he battled a much more experienced fighter and former interim world champion, Mauricio Herrera. Vergil became the first man to stop Herrera without going the distance, putting on a third round knockout performance. His record currently sits at 13-0 with all of his wins coming by knockout.
