Per multiple reports, Rafael Dos Anjos has been forced to drop out from next week’s highly anticipated fight against Conor McGregor at UFC 196. According to these sources, Dos Anjos has suffered a broken foot late last week, forcing him to withdraw from this fight.
Ariel Helwani spoke to Kings MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro to discuss the injury.
Cordeiro revealed that dos Anjos can’t put pressure on his foot for at least three weeks, but thankfully will not need surgery.
“I am devastated, because we were preparing well for this fight and we were ready.”
The UFC is reportedly searching for a replacement on short notice to fight McGregor, however, nothing is finalized. Stay tuned for more information regarding this injury as it continues to unfold.
