BREAKING: World of Boxing Wins Wilder-Povetkin Purse

Per multiple sources, Andrey Ryabinsky’s World of Boxing (WoB) has secured the rights to promote the Deontay Wilder vs Alexander Povetkin fight. The purse bidding took place today in Miami, Florida, and Povetkins promoter, WoB, made a bid of $7.15 million. Wilders promoter, DiBella Entertainment, came in at $5.1 million.

There is no date or venue for this fight, however, many are speculating that the WBC World heavyweight title holder Deontay Wilder will have to travel to Russia to face Povetkin. WBC president Mauricio Sulaimon stated that the World of Boxing now has 15 days to return the fight contracts with date and location included. This fight, according to Sulaimon, must happen within the next 90 days as well.
