Fight of The Century: Ali vs Frazier March 8, 1971

On this day, March 8, 1971, Muhammad Ali  faced off against Joe Frazier for the Heavyweight Championship of the World. The two Heavyweights were posed to battle in front of a sell out crowd of 20,455 at Madison Square Garden. Culturally the fight held significance as many believed it was a battle between ideologies, Frazier fans were seen as Conservative while Ali fans were see more as Liberal. What ended up being later call “The Fight” ended in a 15th round UD for Frazier who won the belt and dealt Ali his first professional loss.
