Freddie Roach ” St-Pierre is gonna have a 6 week camp. If he feels he can fight..he will fight”

Is this one step closer to a potential fight for GSP ? Sure sounds like it..

Freddie Roach spent some time with the MMA legend and had a discussion about a possibly return.. In an interview with Marcos Villegas, Roach spills the beans & gets the MMA world buzzing..

“He’s gonna have a six-week training camp. And at the end of the six weeks, if he feels like he’s ready to fight and he’s hungry for it like he always has been, he’s gonna do it. He’s gonna fight one more time.”

It definitely doesn’t sound like a guarantee..

“If he doesn’t feel it and he feels like it’s just not there, he’s gonna let it go and he’s gonna retire,” Roach said. “I think it’s a really good idea. I think it’s really, really smart to do that, to see where he’s at in his mind.”

Georges last fought Johny Hendricks and won via split decision at UFC 167 on Nov. 16, 2013. Weeks after the fight he announced that he’d be giving up his welterweight title & going on an extended leave. He never mentioned the word “retirement” & has stayed active on social media.

Every week we seem to hear about something from GPS in the media. As fight fans we’re hopeful!
