Has Train For Canelo v GGG 2 Left Station…Or Is Hope Alive?

Some of you are over it, have heard enough about it, and just want the refresh button to be hit.

You are over hearing about the possible (re) making of the Canelo v GGG rematch, and would prefer if all parties just moved on.

Some of that emotion maybe has to do with Golden Boy Promotions boss Oscar De La Hoya the other telling ESPN that, “He’s stubborn and wanting 50-50, and it’s not going to happen. The Canelo train has left the station.”

“Leaving the station” is some definitive imagery.

Leaving, not coming back…rear view mirror time, no looking back, headed to other destinations. Jacobsville, maybe…

I asked GGG promoter Tom Loeffler..

..for an update, from his side of those tracks.

Really, has the train left the station? Are negotiations to make again the GGG v Canelo middleweight scrap really, truly kaput?

“I’m still discussing the biggest fight in boxing with Eric Gomez,” Loeffler told me.

So, Oscar saying “the train has left the station” isn’t quite right…the train is…where is the train lol?

“Just trying to find a solution to make this fight,” Loeffler summarized.

My three cents: This thing gets made. For September. Feel free to ignore this sort of update story, steer around it, if it gets your gears grinding.
