Heather Hardy Makes Weight For MSG Theater Fight

Outside looking in, you tend to look for signs….Is someone looking tight in the face, like they have not a half ounce of fluid to give in their system?

Is their visage tight, do they look drawn and distracted?

Are they able to summon a “normal” reaction, or because of feeling exceedingly weak, because of food and liquid deprivation, do they look a million miles away?

To my eye, Heather Hardy looked solid, looked good, on message, as she made weight on Thursday at Madison Square Garden, ahead of her Friday title defense against Amanda Serrano.

You look for signs, to see if you can gain hints to what might happen in the ring, after the challenge of the scales is met, and things get REALLY real…

Lightweight potential superstar Devin Haney (22-0, 14 KOs) will headline the night against Zaur Abdullaev (11-0, 7 KOs) for the interim WBC World Lightweight Title. Serrano (36-1-1, 27 KOs) challenges WBO World Female Featherweight Titlist Hardy (22-0, 4 KOs), and Michael Hunter (17-1, 12 KOs) will take on undefeated Sergey Kuzmin (15-0, 11 KOs) in a heavyweight bout. There were no scale fails among those top of the card athletes.

DAZN coverage of the preliminary bouts will begin at 7 p.m. ET, with the main card starting at 9 p.m. ET.
