He’s been sort of out of sight, with HBO Boxing folding up their tent and exiting the sphere.
But he’s not out of mind…I still want to know what Jim Lampley, the ex HBO blow by blow man, thinks about this Manny Pacquiao tango with Adrien Broner…Who wins and how, I asked Lamps.
“I’m glad to not be forgotten,” Lampley said. “As for Pacquiao-Broner, I think it could be an interesting and entertaining fight given that their styles—Pacquiao the attacker, Broner the counterpuncher—mesh well, and both have recently improved. I always favor the bigger, better, smarter human being in a close fight, and in this case that is Manny. But a Broner win over a 40-year-old could not be seen as a shock.”
And can Lampley clue us in as to what he’s doing these days…producing anything at HBO?
“As for what I am doing now, no smart producer talks about works in progress. That is the best way to court a slip between the cup and the lip. I am busy, and that is all I should say. Hope you are doing great!”
