Jon Jones on McGregor: “he really got to show some great character”

In Saturday’s UFC 196 pay-per-view headliner McGregor moved up two weight classes to take on the always game Nate Diaz. The fight saved UFC 196, but it didn’t end well for McGregor. What it did show was his dedication to the fans & the UFC. It was McGregor’s first UFC defeat, and it snapped an overall 15-fight winning streak.

Former light-heavyweight champion & P4P great, Jon Jones posted a video on Instagram to commend McGregor for the way he handled himself after the loss.

Gained even more respect for @thenotoriousmma last night.

“I wanted to take a quick second to shout out Conor McGregor for the way he handled defeat last night, He really handled it like a champion. You know, he took a gamble, fighting anyone, anywhere. It was a gamble he lost, but in a way he won because he really got to show some great character. So, shout out to you.”
