Everyone’s favorite bad ass might not be suspended for 5 years after all.
Diaz posted on his official Instagram account and said his legal team has been working with the NSAC, and the talks are “going well.” Diaz even hinted a reduction in punishment.
Just spoke with my legal team at Campbell & Williams and talks with the NV athletic commission are going well. We’re working hard with them to get this right. In a bizarre hearing the NAC ruled that Diaz would be suspended for five years and fined $165,000 for failing a drug test for marijuana. It was his third weed offense in the state. There are serious doubts about the accuracy of Diaz’s test.
The lengthy suspension brought a considerable amount of criticism. Everyone from fans to celebrities like Cher voiced support. A White House petition to get the ruling overturned earned more than 100,000 signatures.
One thing is for sure, we want to see him fight again.
