Olympian Michael Conlan joins Top Rank for Pro Career

Michael Conlan left RIO 2016 with a bad taste in his mouth.

The reigning World gold medalist lost a controversial decision in the bantamweight quarter-final to Russia’s Vladimir Nikitin. In most people’s eyes, he was robbed. He tore off his Ireland vest and held up his middle fingers to the judges, before launching a verbal tirade.

The post fight interview was epic.

Conlan now joins the professional ranks  at flyweight after admitting his problems in Rio were down to a weight struggle in the light-flyweight division. Conlan’s brother Jamie is also a pro with MGM.
