Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez the current #1 Pound-for-Pound (Ring Mag) boxer in the world has officially signed with #TeamEverlast. Roman is the current WBC World Flyweight champion and looks to add another belt to his shelf this weekend when he takes on Carlos Cuadras for the WBC World Super Flyweight (115 lbs) title on HBO.
Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez fought his first professional match in 2005 in Nicaragua where he was able to score a 2nd round KO, his first of 38 to follow. In 2007, he fought for the first time outside of his home country in Tokyo, Japan scoring a first round KO. By 2008, he was the WBA Strawweight champion, a title which he would hold from 2008-2010. He later moved up a weight class to become the WBA junior flyweight champion, which he held from 2011-2012. He then moved up again in weight class in 2014 when he challenged Akira Yaegashi for the RING/WBC flyweight championship, needless to say, Roman went on to win in an electrifying 9th Round TKO. Roman then successfully defended his belt 5 times from 2014-present. Roman has an impressive record of 45 wins, 38 of which by way of KO, and zero losses. Roman is a dominant champion and considered one of the most masterful technicians of the sport.
We at Everlast are excited to work with Roman more closely and expect great things in the future!
