POVETKIN TESTS POSITIVE

Well, this was unexpected (it wasn’t). After the reports that Alexander Povetkin wanted to avoid the VADA, we now know why. Povetkin tested positive for meldonium earlier today putting the Deontay Wilder vs Povetkin showdown in jeopardy. Check out the link below to read the article we posted earlier about the status of the fight.

CANELO-KHAN PPV BUYS

It was first reported that Canelo vs Khan did 600,000 PPV buys. However, that apparently isn’t true and the actual number is 460,000. Oh but wait, it’s also reported that it only had 332,000 PPV buys. So here we have 332,000, 460,000, and 600,000 buys and no one seems to know which one it is since HBO isn’t releasing the info. My bet is on 460,000 but we will have to wait and see. To see more about this, check out the link below.

WONDERBOY DEMANDS TITLE SHOT AFTER RORY

It’s a bold strategy demanding a title fight AFTER an opponent you haven’t even fought yet. It’s a strategy that Stephen Thompson is going for. Thompson is set to fight Rory MacDonald on June 18th and Rory is currently the number 1 contender for the title so many believe this is Thompson’s last fight before he gets that title shot against Robbie Lawler if he wins.
