Update on Joshua v Wilder

That April 13 date at Wembley for Anthony Joshua has Deontay Wilders’ name on it, if he wants it, according to Team AJ. But we’d bet the ranch that Dillian Whyte will be facing off with the massive Brit heavyweight, and not the Alabama boxer.

Barry Hearn is taking the lead in negotiations for the Wilder v AJ mashup and he Tweeted out an update for the masses:

So I asked Shelly Finkel, of Team Wilder, for his take on that Hearn take:

“At present I have a major fight on December 1st (Wilder v Tyson Fury) and that is all of our focus for Team Wilder,” Finkel said. “If Barry wants to negotiate a deal for a Joshua fight, I am very willing to meet him after December 1. Until then I have no interest in anything that distracts me from December 1.”
Yeah, might as well get it totally out of your head, Wilder vs AJ, until maybe fall 2019 at earliest. Yeah, it is what it is…
