Willie “El Mongoose” Monroe Jr., ranked #2 middleweight in the US, is now officially a member of #TeamEverlast! From Rochester, NY, Willie debuted his first professional fight in his home town in 2008, and scored a TKO in Round 3. He went on to the win the Boxcino Tournament in 2014, and defeated Brian Vera by unanimous decision in 2015. With two more wins in 2016, “El Mongoose” has an impressive record of 21-2 and a middleweight world rank of #9
Willie is a southpaw with swift movement, which has earned him the nickname: “El Mongoose”. Willie’s slick southpaw stance and natural abilities allow him to move out of the way when an opponent charges in. He is quick on his feet, moving side to side, and attacking with authority. His punches strike with precision and land effortlessly. He most recently showcased his skills in September 2016 in Dallas, TX at the AT&T stadium in front of 50,000 fans. Willie defeated Gabriel Rosado in a Unanimous Decision which earned him the WBO Inter-Continental Middleweight Title.
